So What's with that beard?
I'll admit, I'm not your normal looking Massage Therapist. Let me assure you that I am an absolute professional when it comes to my practice.
Outside of the office, I have been getting involved in the competitive beard world. I have entered in several beard competitions and I have several trophies and awards to show for it!
I have launched my own Beard and Moustache product line called The Camp Bowie Beard Company.
It offers all natural Beard Oils, Beard Balms and Moustache waxes. If you are interested, please check out the link above.
This really started after taking a class in Reiki. This is a Japanese technique that is used for stress reduction, relaxation and to promote healing. It is said to treat the whole person body, mind and spirit by transferring this positive energy, which clears and heals the body’s natural energy pathways. For More information On Reiki visit my Reiki and Energy page. At this time I am currently a 2nd Level Reiki Practitioner certified through the International Center for Reiki Training. I plan to go on to the Reiki Master level soon. Exploring Reiki was the eye opener for me. With that I had found the right direction to go. I knew then, that I wanted to continue to explore the Healing Arts.
At that point in my life I decided to take a huge gamble and I left that dead end job. I enrolled in a Massage Therapy Certification program. I followed this program with additional training in other Massage Therapy modalities such as Deep Tissue Therapy, Medical Massage Certification, Reflexology and more. The list continues to grow, I never want to stop learning.
I have since established my own practice in Fort Worth where I offer a range of services that can be tailored to my clients needs. Having a client come into the office that is in pain or stressed and having them walk away feeling relieved and relaxed after a session in incredibly rewarding. It was a hard struggle and a very bumpy road to walk away from a stable job at my age, but the reward was that I found ME and a brand new fulfilling path. I would say after all of this is that the main thing I have learned is that you should follow your dreams, live your passions and never stop learning!
Originally from the state of Maryland,
I relocated to Texas in 1997. I have made Fort Worth my home, where I live with my partner and our 3 dogs.
In my mid 40's I found myself caught in an unhappy rut. I had been working at the same corporate job for the last 9 years, with no growth and constant day to day stress. This constant stress was taking a toll on me and my home life. It just didn't feel right. There had to be moreout there than this.
Because of these feelings I found myself awakening in new spiritual and healthy directions. As I began to explore, I found myself hungry to learn more and to travel new paths.
